Amboseli are the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro. The waters from melted snow drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Here, hippo, elephant and bird-life can be seen against the backdrop of the magnificent snow-capped mountain.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Nairobi – Masai mara

7.00a.m. Depart from your Nairobi hotel for the Masai Mara Game Reserve stopping at the view-point of the great Rift Valley and at Narok town for refueling. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in the reserve which is famous for its high animal concentration, abundance and variety. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2 Masai Mara

Early breakfast then proceed for a full day of tracking game with your guide across the rich acacia studded grassland and rolling hills. Virtually every type of wildlife is found in the Mara which has an extensive road and track network which allows for excellent photography and viewing opportunities, making it the best and most visited park in Kenya. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. In the evening, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Masai Mara – Nakuru

Wake up to a cup of tea or coffee then proceed on your final early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast, depart the mara region for Nakuru, lunch enroute, with chances to view Mt.Longonot and lake Naivasha while on the main highway. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4 Lake Nakuru – Amboseli

After breakfast, proceed on a game drive in the nearby lake Nakuru National park, the abode of various water birds that breed in the Lake’s alkaline waters including flamingo, white rhino, Rothschild’s giraffe and plains game are other species encountered while waterbuck and cape buffalo are common on the lake-shore.Depart for Amboseli National Park via Nairobi and Namanga border town, lunch and game drive enroute to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Amboseli

After breakfast, proceed for an early morning pre-breakfast game drive. Return to the campsite for breakfast. After breakfast, a further game drive where plains game including Zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and various antelopes can be seen.
You will have lunch and leisure break at the lodge then end with an evening game drive, looking out for the peak of Kilimanjaro which may be seen in clear weather from the observation hill. Large herds of elephant and hippo can be seen bathing swamp grounds whose water source is Mt. Kilimanjaro. All meals and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6 Amboseli – Nairobi

Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After a late breakfast, depart Amboseli for Nairobi with lunch enroute, arriving in the evening. Drop off at your hotel
